Glasshouse Works

First and foremost GHW is a mail order business, but they open their doors on Friday and Saturday to the public. Don't expect plants to be displayed alphabetically! Instead container plants are scattered about on tables; in fact the variety can be absolutely mind boogling. But the staff is absolutely wonderful: knowledgeable and friendly. If you can't find it, just ask for help.

To add to the eccletic mix, GHW also has an extensive collection of pots, sculpture and other items. In fact they have a house full!

GHW is located in a rural, residential area and not in the middle of a botanical garden. But if you visit, check out the rock garden. Really look...and you will see the very rare variegated Helleborus Foetidus and hybridized coleus that may show up in the trade in a few years. That's the thing about GHW. You need to want to be there and be willing to spend the time to explore the rare and unusual plants. Probably one of the best things about the place is that you don't know what you will find.

But I promise you, that if you do venture out to GHW, you will find something wonderful and it will probably be something that your neighbor doesn't have!

Excellent collection of rare tropicals, succulents and some perennials. The owners, Ken and Tom, and the staff are extremely knowledgable.
