The Farmeres Daughter does have a lot of good plants but I find that they are overpriced. There are other garden centers that are local and have more variety of both plant and non-plant items at more reasonable prices. If the owner is on site he is quite knowledable and takes time to answer questions.

Perhaps I just miss the intimacy of the Farmers Daughter when mr. Pike was round more, folks were more knowledgeble and reasonable. It is so commerical now and I certainly don\'t find it to be the best garden center in the area. Today i went there for a pot. As I was browsing the greenhouses I found a small group of succulents that were covered with dirt, soaking wet, and irregular in shape - except for one or two. They were clearly not with the other succulents that were being sold. i asked the manager if i could buy a couple at a discount, she didn\'t have time to come and look at them with me so I went and brought her a couple of the worst - clearly in need of help and not of selling quality. She was very abrupt. \" What\'s the problem? They\'re just covered in dirt. There\'s nothing wrong with them.\" Oh, please, give me a little credit. First, why were they covered with wet dirt, falling out of their pots, seperated from the other succulents, mostly shapless and in need of help? It\'s just annoying. First dealing with a rude person who doesn\'t know what she\'s talking about and then knowing that these plants are likely to be tossed. I just miss the good old days when people were friendly, reasonable and cared about both their stock and their customers.
