This place is a both a dream and a nightmare for me... a dream in that is has an incredible selection of rare and unusually cactus and succulents- and a nightmare as it is hard not to spend way over what my budget will allow. It is one of the most costly places, in terms of plant prices, but the quality is excellent. Nearly all plants are labeled (though many with archaic names or synonyms- and some just labeled incorrectly), and each plant, despite there being hundreds if not thousands of individually potted plants, seems individually cared for. The two owners are quite knowledgable, friendly and always have time for questions. The nursery is located on a main road in Pasadena, and has a really dinky parking lot, making getting in and out of it a challenge, if not a danger... but it's well worth the visit! Additionally, they have some very talented employees that are true artists when it comes to staging and arranging plants in pots.... it is a 'beautiful' nursery and that best describes it.
