Edison & Ford Winter Estates

Museum and gardens, the winter estate homes of Ford & Edison are a fun place to visit if you're in the neighborhood. (Getting there via the palm-tree-lined narrow McGregor Blvd. is half the fun!)

The homes are situated on adjoining properties, and face the Caloosahatchee River. Each has its own unique character, and the estate also encompasses 20 acres of botanical gardens. In my opinion, the Edison home takes the prize for most endearing garden tableaux, with a charming "evening garden" surrounding a lily pool, and an interesting arbor framing the pier leading to the river. The banyan trees are fascinating to see, and there are botanical tours available throughout the day.
