Presidential Trail

The Presidential Trail departs from Grandview Terrace and follows the historic roadbed of State Highway 244 to the talus slope directly below the sculpture. This half-mile trail provides some extraordinary views of the sculpture as it meanders on to the Sculptor's Studio.

Two other trails lead to Borglum View Terrace and the Sculptor's Studio: One is a nature trail that starts from the main entryway, the other is a steep trail with uneven steps that starts from Grandview Terrace. Borglum View Terrace was the location of sculptor Gutzon Borglum's first on-site studio.
