San Jose Municipal Rose Garden

A beautiful 5 1/2 acre rose garden in a lovely neighborhood with more than 3,500 plantings and 189 varieties. Hybrid teas comprise 75 percent of the plantings. The garden has grass paths between the beds and some beautiful stately large redwood trees surrounding the perimeter.
On my last visit I discovered that the garden includes new rose varieties. I have since learned that the All-American Rose Selections, a national independent rating organization, sends the new varieties to the garden for testing before release to the general public. Great way to see these new intros before deciding to buy them!
