I prefer the Old Cheney market to the one downtown mainly because it is smaller with a high percentage of produce/food vendors. I'm there to get my produce, I'm not too interested in other "stuff". I can get in and out of the market in about 20 minutes if I want to, or I can hang out. I like the fact that it is shady.

IMO, the Haymarket Farmer's market has too many vendors or too little space. The streets are crowded and it is hard to just "window shop" because you can't see the stalls for the crowd. Sort of "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."
