On May 5, 2008 3:28 PM:Amherst Nursery & Flower Shop was sold in December 2007 to John and Deb Cochran. It is now Amherst Garden Center & Flower Shop and, contrary to the current posting (which was posted WELL before "March 2008"), we boast HUNDREDS of ornamental and shade trees, shrubs and evergreens, as well as annuals and perennials, tropicals, aquatics and koi, flower arrangements, a gift shop and landscape design and installation. It is our goal to breathe life back into this sleepy little nursery and you'll be pleasantly surprised when you stop in now!! Our Spring hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This small garden center doesn't look like much from the road as you pass by, but it's larger than it looks and worth a visit, especially if you are interested in ponds. It is one of the few garden centers in the area with a nice selection of aquatic plants and they have a beautiful display pond on-site as well. They don't carry many shrubs or trees - mostly perennials and annuals.
