Encinal Nursery

Encinal is a medium sized nursery that has a little bit of everything including pots, soil, and garden chemicals. All their plants are usually in top condition. I really have never noticed that they specialize in any 1 genus. Their prices are moderate. I usually find something of interest to buy when I visit here if only a new 4 inch bedding plant I have not seen elsewhere.

This is a small neighborhood nursery with a rather limited selection (unless you are into roses, which they often have a lot of, and they have quite a few Japanese maples). What they do have is generally in pretty good shape. The customer service is friendly (knowledgeability varies depending on who you deal with), and they will order plants for you. They also deliver for $10. Prices are not as bad as Thompson's (the other Alameda nursery).
